"On June 28, 2006 my five-month old granddaughter, Kate Boe, died of hyperthermia after being left for many hours in an overheated vehicle. In an effort to raise awareness of the tragic outcome that can occur as a result of leaving young children and infants unattended in vehicles, it has become my mission to share Kate's story …in the Tampa, Florida area, and beyond. Since the death of Kate Boe, I have learned about Baby Alert International, and the Child Minder system. This system is inarguably the ultimate device in safeguarding against forgetting that a child has been left unattended in a vehicle. I am convinced it would be a benefit to Baby Alert International and to members of my audiences. I would like to demonstrate the Child Minder system each time I present Kate's Story, until Kids and Cars, or some other organization, has been successful in making it the law that a safety feature like the Child Minder System is mandatory on all baby car seats. If you believe as I do that demonstrating the Child Minder system to my listeners would be of value to Baby Alert International, please consider my mission a pilot project for Baby Alert International…” — Sue Boe, Odessa, FL |
"I live in Cincinnati and we have had two cases that ended in the infants dying. I saw this product on the news and I am more than excited to use this product. I sent this site to all my friends and I think it would be a great gift idea too!" — Tiffany (Sep 24, 2008) |
"This week an 11 month child died in a car when left all day by her Mother, a Professor at a University in Cincinnati; last year, exactly to the day, an infant was left in a car in Cincinnati by a Middle School Assistant Principal and died. I have ordered two of the alert systems for my daughter who is expecting - to be installed in both their cars." — Leslee (Aug 22, 2008) |
"Recently, my husband came across another news article of a 3 year old boy who died when he was left in a car. I can't get it out of my mind this time. I am going to contact baby alert to see how i can help. Also, I came across the kidsandcars website, people can donate to them. I am also going to see what my local and near area hospitals are doing to inform new parents." — Laura R (Aug 18, 2008) |
"Add me to the growing number of busy parents who has had this momentary lapse that could have turned into a horrible tragedy. I wasn't supposed to have the baby when I picked up my daughter from school, but a last minute change in plans caused me to have to take her. As I arrived to pick up my daughter from school another parent approached me about a problem on the playground before I had even gotten out of the car. I got out of the car and we talked as we walked toward the school. Imagine my horror as I returned to the car to find baby sleeping away peacefully. As one of the most safety concious people I know, this devastated me and rocked my sense of confidence as a parent. I am a true believer that if it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. Thanks for this wonderful security feature!" — Another believer (Jul 29, 2008) |
"WOW! My friend told me about this product and I can't wait to get one. I am about to be a first time mother and I have been reading anything and everything I can get my hands on. I called her when I read the stories regarding children being accidentally left in hot cars, only to end up dying from the heat. I was amazed that things like this happened. That's when my friend told me about Baby Alert and sent me to your website. I feel so much better knowing that a product like this is available to help keep my child safe. Thank you and easing this new parents fears in this area." — Elizabeth (May 11, 2008) |
"I am so glad and thankful to God for a product such as this. I learned about Baby Alert on Good Morning America and thought to myself, "Why isn't this product available in stores around I have read so many stories involving parents and caregivers who have left their loved ones in a heated car. I am so glad that someone finally saw the importance to created a product such as this. This can surely give a sense of security for the parent/caregiver and the child/children. Thank you for this much needed product." — Karen (May 11, 2008) |
"I love all my babies! We have 7 beautiful children and forgetting one in the car has never been a problem, but life has taken a little snag. My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer 4 months after our lucky 7 baby was born. My mind races with a million things. I have just recently left our sweet baby in the car and was horrified 10 minutes later to remember she was in the car. I will never do that again. A little extra reminder will ease my mind tremondously. Nothing excuses a lapse in memory, we as parents are completely responsible for the care and raising of our most precious gifts. Thank you for helping me stay alert and making sure my little one is perfectly safe." — Becky (Apr 29, 2008) |
"Sooooo glad to find this product!! A sleeping baby behind me in the car, 4 other kids getting out, as usual many things on my mind. I am helping the 3 year old to get out then two of the others begin to argue about something and say MOM!! So and so bla bla bla and I intervene. Then I shut the car door and go inside the house. Two minutes later I am looking around and say Oh ---!!! The baby!! I run to the garage and say Thank God its not 100 degrees outside. In California 100 degrees outside could be much hotter in a garage that is hit by the afternoon sun. And the inside temperature of the car is only multiplied by the intense heat. A small baby can not tolerate the heat for more than a couple minutes. Don't make this your tradgedy. I immediately investigated and searched for a product like this. Sooo glad it is available!! I ordered right away! Nobody plans to forget anything!" — Joanne (Mar 26, 2008) |
"It did happen to me! I was talking to my eight year old son when we got out of the car and left the baby inside sleeping. Thankfully it was only for a few minutes but long enough that it scared the heck out of me! We tried for our baby a long time and we are both educated parents. Bottom line, it can happen to anyone. Thanks for making this product! Well worth the extra piece of mind." — Liz (Nov 04, 2007) |
"I'm so excited to finally find this product! I saw the Child Minder System on a news broadcast (at which time I didn't catch the name) & spent 2 days searching for the product online. I'm a working mom with daily daycare drop off/pick up duty. Going through those same motions every day sometimes makes it hard to distinguish one morning from another as I sit at my desk & drink my morning coffee after my whirlwind morning routine. Do I really remember dropping off my daughter THIS morning or am I remembering yesterday morning?!? I can't wait for the peace of mind in never having to doubt myself by using this product. My heart goes out to the families who have lost a child in any way. I'm so thankful that this product exists to help us keep our babies safe & healthy!" — Ashley (Aug 07, 2007) |
"This is a wonderful safety device with multiple usages. Unfortunately, some people think that it would never happen to them until it is too late. Just a small price can ease your mind from an unintentional action either by the parent or the caregiver. Myself being a former caregiver had one parent drop off the child daily. However, the one particular day that parent is unable to perform this daily task had the significant other take their place. With the child in the backseat it is very easy for that parent to inadvertently leave their child in the car especially having to meet the demand of multi-tasks. With this safety device easily transferable to stroller or infant seat can also ease our minds. How many times do you see parents slowly drifting away from the shopping cart and the baby is in the infant seat? This can also eliminate abductions since the parent is focusing on the products located on the shelves at the stores. I know that not a parent in this world would ever want to live with this guilt for the rest of their life. I will make sure that I purchase this product for myself and my friends as well so we will have peace of mind." — Pam (May 01, 2006) |
"My daughter was the 8th death due to hyperthermia in 2005. She would have been 15 months yesterday March 14th and she has been in heaven for almost 9 months yet it seems like yesterday. This problem does need national attention but I see it is going to take devoted parents to make this a priority. I love this device and will recommend this to my friends who are having babies. I don't want any one to go through the unnecessary pain of loosing a child in this manner. Sincerely, Michele Terry, Mika's Mom - 'created for eternity'" — Michelle (Mar 15, 2006) |
